Welcome to Giggle Zone Press
I adopted the name Giggle Zone Press to represent my personal work when I was an undergraduate student working on my B.F.A. in Visual Design at the University of Oregon. Though I was majoring in Visual Design, I actually spent a lot of my time in the Printmaking studio working with woodcut and intaglio prints.
I had been working in the Printmaking studio with a graduate student (who has become a very talented printmaker by the way) rather late. As it got later, and we got more tired, we started to laugh and giggle at some rather silly things while working on the press. One of us made a comment about being in the "giggle zone". Somehow, I pieced that into the Giggle Zone Press and used it as a label for one of my first, if not my first, artist book a few days later.
With that said, though most of what I'm doing here in this site is digital, I still like print as well. "Press" implies printing, imprinting and perhaps publishing ... which, abstractly, is what anyone does when they create a Website. They just don't use paper.
